There are limitations of course (if compared to a DSLR) but it made me try to look at certain things with a different angle and here are some of my favourite shots from that outing.
Kota Tua or Old Jakarta is really the complete opposite of the new city centre. It’s rundown but exudes the grand old city charm. Walk around the area and just imagine what it was like in the past. It has a bit more personality than the brand spanking new buildings around Thamrin/Senayan area.

Old Batavia/Kota Tua, Jakarta, a set on Flickr.
Apart from musicians, I love photographing buildings, old and new. On a recent trip to Jakarta, I decided to leave my DSLR behind and shoot with my iPhone with the aid of Hipstamatic app. There are limitations of course (if compared to a DSLR) but it made me try to look at certain things with a different angle and here are some of my favourite shots from that outing.
